I must say, it was flawless! I’ve had the opportunity to learn about a variety of topics related to education and Northern Ireland over the last month. Aside from the excellent classes, there were numerous field trips that provided first-hand experience and opportunities to converse with principals, students, and politicians alike. Expect to learn about Northern Ireland’s history and conflicts, educational system, current research, and much more! Also, be prepared to meet amazing classmates, teachers, and staff.

I’m grateful for Santander’s scholarship, which made this entire experience possible. I can’t wait to put what I’ve learned into practice and hope to return to Queen’s soon.
Transformation Summer Course at Queen’s University Belfast
The Queen’s University Belfast Education for Transformation Summer Course was an incredible experience. I learned about the country’s history, its problems, the divide between Catholics and Protestants, the educational system, and so much more. So, I am overjoyed to have received a Santander scholarship and had the opportunity to study education in Northern Ireland for four weeks. Also, I now know a lot more about this divided society and can compare it to my own. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. I hope to be able to return and continue my studies.
Why Queen’s University Belfast?
Belfast is a wonderful city, and Queen’s University Belfast is a sight to behold. You are surrounded by locations that have been immortalized in song, story, film, and history. Every day was motivating. Also, bring rain gear and plan to spend some time exploring the city after the program. I don’t think you could spend a year in Belfast and see everything there is to do and see in the city, let alone the surrounding areas! I’m hoping to return soon.
What Would You Improve about This Program at Queen’s University Belfast?
Improved communication access. In the dorms, without an international cell phone contract, one is cut off. There were no phones. Set up email or cell communication for groups on the first day so that there can be more spontaneous group event planning and communication.
